 'Listening To Youth 3'

Lancaster Spotlight is looking for new young talent!

With our third 'Listening To Youth' project funded by

Arts Council England Lancaster Spotlight is looking for new

young writers, comedians and singer/ songwriters.

In February Spotlight will be hosting two free

'Listening To Youth' Open Mic

Try-Outs in Lancaster and Carnforth.

This is a great chance for young people aged 16 - 22 years to

perform their own poems, stories, songs or comedy.

Young people entering will have 5 minutes to perform any

original piece of material. The events will be friendly

and informal.

To book a 5 minute spot or for further information

email: spotlightclub@btinternet.com

or Tel: 01524 381642

The Lancaster Open-Mic Try-Out will be at:

The Gregson Centre, Moor Lane, Lancaster on

Tuesday 21st February 6.30 - 8.30pm.

The Carnforth Try-Out will be at :

The Furness & Midland Hall at Carnforth Station on

Saturday 25th February, 1.30 - 3.30pm.

Entry is free to both performers and audience. Come and

listen... or, better still, come and perform! - Whether you

perform or come as audience, participation is free!

Following on from the Open-Mic try-outs there will be a

chance to take part in two free writing / performance

workshops leading to a Spotlight

'Listening To Youth' Showcase

at The Storey Auditorium in March.

The project is a follow-on from successful Spotlight youth

projects in 2012 and 2014. Many of those who took part last

time have become regular performers at

Spotlight and other venues.
